3 Tips For Writing a Great Website Header

3 Tips For Writing a Great Website Header

So many websites have headers that are heavy with confusing text.

You have less than 3 seconds to capture a new visitor's attention, so every word counts.

Here are my three tips for writing a great website header:

1) Limit your main headline to 4-6 words.

2) Use about 8-12 words for your subheader.

3) Make sure that your header or your subheader clearly states what you do.

While it may be tempting to write creative or cute words for your header, you will risk confusing your visitors, so stay simple.

Remember, clear is kind.

And clear converts!

Check out my quick 2-minute explanation here.
